The witness was provided accommodations in conjunction with Rule 43. Participants and their counsel were able to be present while the witness was questioned, as well as accredited media. As has been the case throughout proceedings, Participants and their counsel had an opportunity to submit questions, and provide questions in caucus meetings throughout the testimony.

  • Witness: Staff Sergeant Andy O'Brien to speak to information regarding his knowledge of the communications and actions
    undertaken by RCMP command personnel on April 18 and 19, 2020. The witness will provide information on the following topic areas:
    • The roles and responsibilities of those present at the Command Post and at the OCC,
    • Communications with command personnel,
    • Communications with the IARD team via radio,
    • Communications and actions flowing from information obtained from witnesses,
    • Communications, decisions, and actions pertaining to public communications,
    • Actions, directions, and communications relating to crime scenes, containment and canvassing in Portapique on April 19, 2020.
