To fulfill our mandate, it will be important for the Commission to gather input on different aspects of our work from various groups and members of the public in affected communities.

Community Meetings

We are meeting with community groups in affected communities and other organizations in Nova Scotia impacted by the mass casualty so they can learn more about the Commission and our work and share information with us. Thank you to those who have met with us already and shared your insights.

If you are a member of an organization that was affected or is related to our mandate and would like to learn more about the Commission and/or share input, please contact us.

Public Open Houses

In 2021, the Commission met with over 100 community members in Nova Scotia through a series of public Open Houses. The purpose of the Open Houses was to share information about our work, answer questions and to gather feedback from community members.

The format of the Open Houses was informal, drop-in style and community members were welcome to come at any time. The setup of the space had Commission team members at tables sharing information about different aspects of our work and answering questions about the inquiry process. The information being shared was the same at each location, so we encouraged the public to attend the one that worked best for them. If you were unable to attend you can download a package of the information that was shared.

We anticipate holding more Open Houses in the future and will update this page along with our calendar with any information.
