Today we announced that our next public proceedings will take place between October 26, 2021, and December 10, 2021, at the Halifax Convention Centre and other venues in consultation with Participants. These proceedings will contribute to the fact-finding and policy aspects of our work, as we focus on what happened leading up to and during the events of the April 2020 mass casualty in Nova Scotia.

The Mass Casualty Commission learned that audio recordings of 911 calls from the events of April 18 and 19, 2020, had been published by a local magazine. The Commission condemns the access and posting of the highly sensitive audio recordings posted yesterday evening.

We are encouraged by the progress being made in Nova Scotia and in Canada on COVID-19 vaccinations, and we hope this will lead to easing of public health restrictions for our communities in the months ahead. In the meantime, we are following our COVID-19 Protocols and continuing our work in ways that ensure the health and safety of everyone taking part.
