Members of the Mass Casualty Commission team plan to return to the Portapique community this week to continue fact-finding work. This team will include investigators and members of our legal team, and will be a small group.

This visit will take place in the evening and after dark on either June 23rd or 24th (weather dependent). Residents may see our team using flashlights as they walk around the roads within Portapique, as well as our vehicles in the community. All vehicles have Nova Scotia license plates. All COVID-19 protocols will be followed. We do not expect to interact with community members, but if residents want to talk to us about our work, we can do so in a socially distant and safe way.

If any member of the community wishes to speak to someone from the Commission team in advance, please reach out to info@masscasualtycommission.ca or call 902-407-7532 or toll-free 1-833-635-2501.

If you are experiencing distress and overwhelming emotions please remember, you can reach the Nova Scotia Provincial Crisis Line 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167. More information is available on our Support page.
