We have received some questions from community members about recent RCMP personnel changes. We want to be clear that those individuals do not work for the Mass Casualty Commission, but are RCMP employees who were assigned by their organization to respond to requests from the Commission.

The Commission will gather necessary information from any individual or organization regardless of current employment status, or personnel changes.

The Commission will work with individuals at all relevant organizations including the RCMP to obtain the necessary information to complete a thorough and independent investigation. The Commission can subpoena any required testimony, evidence or documents to find out what happened, how and why it happened, and to inform recommendations to keep communities safer in the future.
